The Algarve, is blessed with superb beaches, un spoilt countryside and countless restaurants for alfresco dining. With more sunshine hours than anywhere else in Europe, clean air and sea and a pleasant variation in the seasons, the Algarve climate bears close resemblance to that of California

There are championship golf courses,   water sports like windsurfing and sailing, and some beautiful beaches.  The  Zoo Marine where you can swim with the dophins, Go Karting in Almancil or up in the mountains, Crazy World with animal petting, pitch and put.  Stroll around the Marina in Vilamoura with its shops, restaurants and bars, boats and Casino. In addition there are two large shopping centers at Guia or Faro. In the evenings there is Vale Do Lobo with its live music and restaurants, little local restaurants with chicken piri piri, fresh fish and generally great food.  Bars with live music are always on offer in the summer months.

Of course Portugal is famous for its pottery, fabulous sardines and other fresh fish, wine and generally wonderful fresh food.   Loule and Quarteira  have great indoor food markets, and wonderful fish markets on every day except Sundays.  In addition there is the weekly gypsy market selling clothes and jewelry where you can pick up absolute bargains
